The thin bezel around the curved 27-inch screen isn't the only visual quirk of the monitor that represents Asus' ROG lineup. So, on the back of the case there is an asymmetric pattern with proprietary Aura Sync backlight. For it, you can set various glow scenarios from static to the effect of breathing, waves, flashes, etc., as well as synchronize with other devices, for example, an Asus gaming mouse or keyboard.
Another feature of the design of the monitor is the light signature projected onto the desktop. The kit comes with special lenses with ready-made designs (ROG logos) and clean overlays on which you can apply your own graphics.
Fast, bright and rich picture
The Asus PG27VQ features a QuadHD TN display. Their advantages, in addition to high image clarity and a response time of 1 ms, include high peak brightness (400 cd / m2) and accurate colour reproduction out of the box. The only drawback is the limited visibility of the screen.
The display frame rate has been increased to 165 Hz (when connected via DisplayPort), while most competitors have 144 Hz. G-Sync technology is capable of adding smoothness and sharpness to any gaming battles. It provides the best synchronization between the refresh rate of the monitor and the video signal transmitted by NVIDIA video cards (provided that this development is supported by the adapter).
Even more features
Asus PG27VQ plays 3D. To enjoy stereoscopic viewing, you need an NVIDIA 3D Vision® 2 compatible graphics card and glasses in addition to the appropriate content. Other features of the model include the presence of a USB hub (one of the ports is with fast charging of mobile devices), support for Flicker-Free and other Ultra-low Blue Light technology that protects eyesight, convenient options for adjusting the screen in height, tilt and turn to the sides.
The disadvantage of Asus PG27VQ is the high cost of the device. But given the vast gaming potential, the monitor is definitely able to impress gamers, especially those who use advanced GeForce graphics cards and appreciate the surroundings in the form of backlighting and light signatures.
