Lightweight household grade hair dryer

The Bosch EasyHeat 500 dryer is the "youngest" model in the line of similar devices manufactured by Bosch. It is a replacement for the popular Bosch PHG 500. The updated hair dryer differs from its predecessor in design and lightweight construction. Weighing only 470g, this device is one of the lightest models available on the market. The tool lies comfortably in the hands and can stand upright with the nozzle up.

The device has only two modes of operation. It can blow air heated to 300°C or 500°C. Depending on the selected mode, the performance of the built-in fan is 240 L/min or 450 L/min. Since this hair dryer is not capable of heating the air to temperatures of 600 °C or more, it cannot be used for certain types of work (for example, it will not be able to melt the solder with which copper pipes are soldered). On the other hand, a power of 1600 watts (1.8 – 2 kW is considered the norm) means that the coil will last longer. Anyway, even 500 °C is more than enough for domestic use or work in the workshop. With this hair dryer, you can peel off old paint, glue parts made of plastic or linoleum sheets, defrost water pipes and frozen locks, clean the grill grate from grease or kindle coal in the brazier.

The cheapest among Bosch hair dryers

The tool is supplied in a cardboard box. There is no carrying case or interchangeable nozzles in the kit (but spare nozzles for different operations can be found in the accessories catalog). But, thanks to the "empty" configuration, the device costs less than $50 – almost free by the standards of Bosch hair dryers.
