An experiment from Bosch
The range of rechargeable thermal guns does not impress with variety. But even in such a narrow segment, Bosch Gluey stands out as the brightest star in the sky. Or rather, like a whole constellation of multi-coloured stars, because this is a rare example of an instrument that is available in several body colours.
Something different and unique
But this model is interesting not only for this. A feature of Bosch Gluey is the unique form factor of the tool. The compact and ultra-lightweight (only 120g) “pen” works on the same principle as similarly sized 3D printers: the glue is heated and melted through a thin nozzle. This design allows you to very accurately glue small parts. Although the device is charged with unusual short rods (20 mm), this should not be a problem. Firstly, there are a lot of consumables in the kit, and they are often found on the market. And secondly, you can take ordinary transparent or coloured Bosch glue sticks with a diameter of 7 mm and cut them into pieces of the desired length.
The tool is powered by two Ni-Mh batteries in the form of AA batteries, which provide a very fast heating of the adhesive to a semi-liquid consistency (in 60 seconds). On the body of the device there are clearly visible indicators of heating and charging, which allow you to monitor the status of the tool during operation.
Bonding tool
The capabilities of Bosch Gluey are quite limited, because the device, in principle, is not capable of delivering more than 2 grams of glue per minute. But, despite the low performance, this tool has its own niche. Compact, lightweight and comfortable, the glue pen is indispensable for small jobs that require care and accuracy, such as needlework or making small crafts and decor items. It can also be used to repair small electronics (if you keep in mind that not all electronic parts will be "happy" with glue heated to a temperature of 150 °C).
As an alternative to this tool, only Bosch GluePen and STEINEL Neo 1 can be offered. In addition to them, there are no other models in the glue pen segment that deserve your attention.
