The model captivates with the versatility of focal lengths of 24-50 mm, but its entry-level level is given away by a low “floating” aperture of f / 4.5-6.3. However, it is compensated by the presence of an optical stabilizer in the lens design - the efficiency of the stabilizer is declared up to 4.5 stops of shutter speed or frame exposure, and together with in-camera stabilization up to 7 stops.

The standard length of the model is 58 mm, but when zoomed, its body increases to 86 mm. Filters with a diameter of 58 mm can be installed on the front barrel of the lens. The optics are focused from a distance of 30 cm, using the STM stepping autofocus drive. The lens is quite lightweight - 270 g. Its design includes an AF/MF focus mode switch, a zoom ring, and manual focusing.
