To be honest, even despite the addition of Macro in the title, I can’t call this lens a thoroughbred macro lens. And this is a plus, because the sharpness here, although high, is not prohibitive, which gave me the opportunity to take pictures of nature, street art. portraits, even sunsets. The depth of field here is not the size of a needle, which is very pleasing, but in fact it is logical, since the focal length is 35, not 90. I bought it as a compact replacement for walking around the city and shooting subjects. It lived up to expectations, although not in everything. The bokeh is strong, I can’t say that it is not enough. But it is milky, which is not always good in macro and subject photography, especially with a bright background. It does not turn out as velvety as I would like. The sharpness is very high, but in portraits I can’t say that I see every pore, which is good. You can say there is a compromise here. It makes noise like all kenon lenses (those that are professional are quieter, but there the price is different). Autofocus is average. Could have done it faster. The price is acceptable, but 1.4 should go for this price - IMHO!. The lens is good, I'm happy. A very compromising and versatile lens. Macro is not the most juice, but enough for its focal points. I take this as a bonus to a good 35 mm. Sharpness is very good, and most importantly in moderation. Perhaps I'm used to long lenses, but still it seemed to me that bokeh is its weakest side.
