Initially, I used the 50mm 1.8, then I tried this 24mm and realized I like it better and it suits me more!!!!
Fast, smooth, silent Autofocus,
A distance of 24 on a crop sensor is equivalent to 50, which means it's for portraits,
There is practically no noise, taking photos in night clubs is just top-notch,
Honestly, compared to the 50mm f/1.8, I liked this one more for its background blur, very soft,

excellent model, amazing but excellent pictures, barely audible buzzing when shooting video, I recommend it.
lightweight, excellent image quality, excellent assembly, barely noticeable chromatic aberration.
manual focusing only works when the camera is on, slight astigmatism at the edges.

For its ultra-compact dimensions and light weight, the Canon EF-S 24mm f / 2.8 STM lens has earned the honor of being called a “pancake” — this is the name of optics with extremely small body dimensions in length (in this case, about 7 cm).

Under the crop

The model name contains the symbols EF-S, hinting at the compatibility of the lens exclusively with Canon cropped DSLRs. For installation on full-frame “carcasses”, the “pancake” Canon EF 40mm f / 2.8 STM is more suitable. Its 24-mm prime repeats both in size and focal length — given that the crop factor of Canon APS-C DSLRs is 1.6x, shooting paired with a lens is performed at almost the same focal length as its full-frame counterpart (38 mm in 35 mm equivalent).

Autofocus drive

Despite the miniature form factor, in the body of the lens there was a place not only for the elements of the optical design, but also for the quiet STM autofocus stepping motor, focus quickly, accurately and accurately in most situations. The photographer also has the right to aim at the subject manually, for which you need to switch the “AF / MF” slider on the lens body to the desired position and use the services of the focus ring at the front lens.
