The PowerShot A95 is a compact digital camera, the new flagship of the A-series. The PowerShot A95 succeeds the successful A80 and features an oversized 5.0 megapixel sensor, AF/MA, a large 1.8" LCD monitor and VGA movie recording capability. The A95 has 14 shooting modes, including 8 genre scene presets, more than any other Canon digital camera.
Many of the creative freedom features of the A95 are shared with Canon's high-end S and G-series cameras. Canon's advanced DIGIC processor, iSAPS technology and 9-point Intelligent AF, plus a 3x optical zoom lens with f/2 aperture .8 provide superior image quality and ease of use. The camera's capabilities are enhanced by a rich set of accessories, including a wide converter, a teleconverter and a waterproof case. Printing features include a Print/Share button, PictBridge support, and movie and document photo print modes.
More pixels, more possibilities
The A95's 5.0 megapixel CCD sensor delivers superb image quality, allowing you to take great photos up to A3 size. 14 shooting modes, from fully automatic to manual, give you complete creative freedom and make it easy to shoot quality shots in difficult conditions. Along with the full manual, programme, and aperture/shutter priority modes found on all serious digital cameras, the PowerShot A95 features a custom mode that lets you remember camera settings. And in modes for genre scenes - 8 presets: foliage, snow, beach, fireworks, night mode, children and animals, underwater shooting. The camera can not only shoot movies with sound for up to 3 minutes, but also play them back and even edit them. You can also shoot movies with VGA resolution. The new 1.8-inch LCD monitor rotates 360 degrees, allowing you to shoot from almost any position.
High quality optics and great features
Canon's high-quality f/2.8 lens features a precision, high-precision 3x optical zoom with a range of 38-114mm (35mm equivalent) for a wide range of compositional possibilities. A dedicated DIGIC processor integrates all image processing into a single chip and provides high speed recording, minimal shutter lag, optimal resolution and natural colour reproduction. The iSAPS system, the built-in photographer's assistant, analyzes composition parameters (zoom factor and light) to determine the type of frame being shot. This speeds up autofocus, improves autoexposure performance, and improves white balance accuracy.
The 9-point autofocus system ensures high-speed, accurate focus even when the subject is off-centre. The Intelligent Orientation Sensor evaluates the vertical and horizontal contributions of weighted metering, improving the accuracy of auto exposure and auto white balance, and saving time when reviewing shots. For the first time in the A-series cameras, autofocus and autoexposure by moving zone are applied. This feature, found on the PowerShot Pro series cameras, allows you to move the AF frame to select the subject on which the exposure is determined.
Accessories
A complete set of accessories will expand the possibilities of the camera and allow the photographer to reveal his abilities in the most interesting way. Waterproof to depths of up to 40 metres, the case (available separately) is equipped with anti-fog double glass and a flash diffuser. Optional Wide Converter (0.7x) and Teleconverter (1.75x) lenses expand framing options and increase effective focal length range. You can also purchase a macro lens.
Improved Printing Experience
The camera is equipped with a Print/Share button. When a connection is successfully established between the camera's USB port and a PictBridge-compatible printer or Windows computer, the indicator on the camera lights up. Now just press a button and either you get a print of the frame displayed on the monitor (based on the default settings - PictBridge or direct print settings - connected printer) or the image is automatically sent to your computer¹. And when connected to a Canon compact photo printer, you can print video clips (consecutive frames as thumbnails on one sheet) and photos for documents (such as a passport).
Complete set of programs
Included software includes ZoomBrowser EX (Windows) and Image Browser (Mac) viewer and print software, as well as PhotoStitch, ArcSoft PhotoImpression and VideoImpression photo and video software.
