Model overview based on user reviews
The Canon EOS 77D kit 18-55 is a mid-range DSLR camera that offers a significant upgrade from entry-level models like the Canon EOS 700D. It features a 24MP APS-C sensor with improved dynamic range and reduced noise, making it suitable for high ISO shooting. The camera is equipped with the latest DIGIC 7 processor, enhancing its performance, particularly in video recording, which is Full HD at 60 fps. Users appreciate its excellent autofocus system with 45 points and the versatility of the included 18-55mm lens. The camera's build is lightweight, and it includes a touchscreen display for ease of use. However, some users note the absence of 4K video and find the USB 2.0 port outdated. While the camera is praised for its photo and video quality, some users suggest investing in a better lens for optimal results. Overall, the Canon EOS 77D is considered a great option for amateur photographers looking to explore more advanced features.

Good mid-range DSLR
1 June 2018
This is a mid-range camera that grew out of low-cost cameras. Together with a whale lens, it weighs a little more than 700 grams. Impressive, but not so much to weigh down. I specifically took a kit with such a lens, and not with the more bulky 18-135mm. The whale lens, by the way, is quite versatile, has a decent aperture ratio and good stabilization. APS-C sensor has 24 effective megapixels and allows you to take pictures with a resolution of 6000x4000 pixels. This is a new sensor and, unlike the previous generation, it gives less noise, which allows you to safely use high sensitivity values. In the evening I tried to shoot even at ISO 6400 and it cannot be said that the pictures are very noisy. There are problems in dark areas, but additional processing with filters helps to solve the problem. And if you don’t want to bother, then at 3200 or even more so at 1600 you can get an excellent picture without additional processing. The camera has excellent capabilities for continuous shooting, for example, I shoot a child at a speed of 6 fps, and if you use a fast SDXC UHS-I memory card, the series will continue until the entire free volume is filled. If you shoot in RAW format, then the series is limited to 27 frames, which is also not bad. Focusing is fast, you can rely on autofocus in 99% of cases, I really liked his work. In tracking mode, it also works fine, you can even shoot fast dynamics.
IMHO, in 2018, the USB 2.0 port looks archaic. Therefore, copying photos and videos from a 128 GB memory card to a PC takes a lot of time. No 4K video.
good model, I liked it.
30 October 2017
I had a Canon EOS 700D, I bought it three years ago and used it with great pleasure. But at the beginning of this summer, one serious mechanical trouble happened to him, and I remained on the base of the camera. Since his 18-135mm lens remained, I decided to take another Canon, but a higher class.
Compared to the 700D, this is a higher class camera. Its sensor is newer, at 24MP, and the image resolution is 6000x4000 versus 5184x3456 for the 700D. But this is far from the most important point, it is important that the new sensor has an improved dynamic range and reduced noise when shooting at high ISO values. If the frame is not supposed to be printed on large formats, then you can safely set 3200 and not worry, the noise will be quite insignificant. Probably, the improvement of software processing also plays a role here. This camera is equipped with the latest and fastest DIGIC 7 processor, the power of which is especially important when shooting video. And the video this camera shoots is very worthy. 30-minute videos in 1920x1080 resolution at 50 fps can decorate both a family archive and any video blog, which is what my 14-year-old daughter does. I watched it on Youtube, I won’t comment on the content, but the picture is impeccable. By the way, for recording video with high-quality sound, a microphone input is provided here. And returning to the photographic advantages of this camera, it should be noted a good built-in flash, excellent autofocus that works on 45 points, correct exposure meters, normal white balance, excellent continuous shooting, a cool touch screen and a lot more on the little things. In reality, the camera is cool and it simply has no serious flaws.
High price. The viewfinder has insufficient diopter adjustment depth. My eyesight is -2.5, and here compensation is provided only up to a value of -1.5. I use the display in LiveView mode and rarely look into the viewfinder.
great model, love it

Cool SLR camera with a 24-megapixel matrix. It's just not worth comparing it with budget soap dishes in terms of image resolution. Here the price of each pixel is completely different. Due to the large physical size of the matrix (after all, 22x15mm), the photos are exceptionally detailed. I have never had such beauty, and for the first couple of weeks I constantly photographed my family and generally photographed everything that came to hand. A capacious lithium-ion battery allows this, on a single charge you can take more than 400 shots, much more)) It's a pleasure to shoot, the camera is comfortable to hold in your hands, everything you need to shoot and view photos is convenient to view on a bright 3-inch touch screen. It shoots very well on the machine, but when I started to deal with manual settings, I realized that I had to dig here for more than one week or two. Of the features, I note the very good quality of images at high sensitivity. ISO 1600 looks great, 3200 is acceptable and only 6400 already has obvious problems. What video does she make? The half-hour FHD videos at 50 fps are very good.
Thanks to the large lens, the dimensions and weight of the camera are immodest - you have to carry more than a kilogram. It's good when you're in a car, but if you're on foot, sometimes you think about whether you really want to take this camera with you ))

Video reviews

The Canon EOS 77D DSLR camera serves as an intermediate link between interchangeable lens cameras for newbies in the photo world and serious work or creative tools. Within the Japanese manufacturer's lineup, this DSLR occupies a position between the simple Canon EOS 800D and the camera for photo enthusiasts, the Canon EOS 80D.

The Best from Everyone

This specimen borrowed compact dimensions, ease of mastering, and automatic functions from entry-level cameras. From the family of advanced DSLRs, it inherited developed ergonomics, in particular, an additional monochrome information display on the top edge (which allows you to change settings without being distracted by the main screen), as well as a second scroll wheel for convenient adjustment of shutter speed and aperture.

Focus-pocus — Autofocus

The camera is built around a 24.2 MP image sensor with Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology. It's responsible for fast and precise focusing in LiveView mode and during video shooting. In the latter case, the technology also helps to achieve a "cinematic" effect of smooth focus transition. When looking through the optical viewfinder, the subject is reliably caught and held by 45 phase-type focus points.

Creative Growth

The controls, borrowed from the professional squad, in combination with the swivel touchscreen display, present the DSLR as a great option for learning and solving serious creative tasks. There is room to grow further with this camera, for which in the future you'll need to replace the 18-55 mm kit lens with something more versatile or brighter. Five options as replacements for the standard lens are discussed in the article "Replacing the Kit: 5 Zoom Lenses for Canon Crop Sensor DSLR Cameras."
