Low-cost saw with non-low-cost features
The Einhell TE-AP 18 Li Solo saw is a tool that occupies an unusual niche: it can do much more than cheap cordless loppers, but still falls into the low-cost saw class for the price. Although it does not have the most powerful engine (and therefore the tool is quite light — only 1.5 kg), but in terms of characteristics, this saw is practically not inferior to much more expensive models.
Eighteen volts work wonders
It's all about the batteries. This is not exactly typical for an inexpensive power tool, but the saw runs on 18-volt batteries, which provide performance comparable to that of a corded saw. Therefore, it can cut wood (up to 100 mm thick), plastic, and metal (up to 6 mm thick). Of course, for effective work with various types of wood, polymeric materials and metal, you need to use the appropriate blades. But since the quick clamp saw is compatible with all universal (and widespread) L-shank files, there should be no problems with the selection of equipment.
Work but don't overwork
The Einhell TE-AP 18 Li Solo saw comes without charger and battery. But the batteries of the Power X-Change system, which are necessary for the operation of the saw, are used in many models of Einhell construction and garden tools. Therefore, if you are planning to acquire several types of tools for home and garden that can run on the same battery, then the Einhell saw may be the first of them.
On one standard battery with a capacity of 1.5 Ah, the saw will work up to 30 minutes. But users note that she has a tendency to overheat, and such a long work without interruptions is impossible. Due to the lack of heating sensors and automatic engine protection, you have to control the temperature of the motor according to your feelings in order to notice its increase in time, stop and let the tool rest. Therefore, for intensive work and professional use, the Einhell saw is not recommended. But for everyday tasks, it is just right.
