Shield of the gods
Named after the mythical Olympic shield, the Aegis product line appeared in domestic retail only a couple of years ago and has not climbed out of the top sales since then. Thanks to the use of high-quality memory chips, the Taiwanese manufacturer G.Skill managed to create fast and high-quality DDR4 DIMM memory, which is only a little behind the overclocker memory, but due to the simplification of the design, it is at the level of budget laptop memory.
Nothing extra
In particular, in order to save money, the brand's engineers abandoned the backlight and a full-fledged radiator, which was replaced with a light and thin metal heat sink sticker. Almost everything that is not responsible for the quality or speed of memory was put under the knife. Therefore, unlike elite DDR4 memory capable of accelerating up to 4266 MHz (note: and even higher), the overclocking potential of G.Skill Aegis is usually in the range of 3200 - 3400 MHz. And this is with the standard latency of CL16 and a voltage of 1.35 V.
Optimal balance between price and quality
For an inexpensive PC built for study, work and multimedia entertainment, this will be the best option. RAM modules with a lower frequency cost literally 3 kopecks cheaper, and it seems to us that this is pure savings on matches. At the same time, entry-level Intel motherboards and processors rarely support RAM at frequencies above 3200 MHz and are not always friendly with XMP technology, so buying a slightly more expensive and faster RAM a la Kingston Fury Beast does not make much sense in this case. . Plus, due to the low height of the brackets, Aegis modules will easily settle next to a massive CPU cooler without interfering with each other.
