Introduced in 2020, Aegis RAM from the Taiwanese manufacturer G.Skill immediately became a bestseller, displacing everyone's favorite HyperX Fury and Crucial Ballistix models from the pedestal. It is symbolic that it is named after the mythical cape of Aegis, which Zeus later remade into a shield for the war with the Titans.

Operating frequency 3200 MHz

Our test lab received a single 16 GB stick with a claimed frequency of 3200 MHz. When G.Skill Aegis was first launched, it started up at 2600 MHz. By manually setting the XMP profile, the memory worked at a frequency of 3200 MHz with timings of 16-18-18-38.

Metal stickers instead of radiators

Instead of heatsinks, metal stickers are glued to this RAM, which surprisingly skillfully cope with the cooling of the bar and will not interfere with the installation of a massive processor cooler. If you decide to overclock it, replacing the stickers with full-fledged radiators is as easy as shelling pears.

Nothing extra

Perhaps the main charm of this plank lies in its asceticism. The manufacturer decided to abandon massive heatsinks, RGB backlighting and other goodies that do not affect the performance of the memory in any way in order to reduce the price tag to the maximum. The result is perhaps the most affordable memory option with an operating frequency of 3200 MHz, which can only be found in stores.
