A family of low-cost laptops from HP with modest equipment, support for fast charging and the ability to upgrade the drive and RAM modules. They are included in the G series from HP, most of whose representatives are budget solutions for work or study, capable of solving various everyday tasks such as typing, mathematical operations, paperwork, business correspondence, web surfing, video communication, etc.

Despite belonging to the initial class, the manufacturer did not save too much on hardware and opted for the AMD Barcelo platform with Zen 3 architecture. As a result, all HP 255 G9 laptops are equipped with either 4-core Ryzen 3 chips or 6-core Ryzen 5, which in addition, they are able to perform multi-threaded data processing and support the auto-acceleration function. Due to this, the computing power of this line approximately corresponds to the level of more eminent competitors costing 1.5-2 times higher.

For image output, a 15.6-inch Full HD display based on SVA / IPS-matrix with a standard margin of brightness (250 cd / m2), modest color reproduction (45% NTSC) and anti-glare coating is provided. By tradition, for this line, the manufacturer has focused on the convenience of interacting with a laptop. So they did not remove the block with numbers from the keyboard. The branded touchpad supports gestures that help you scroll pages faster and more conveniently, change zoom or quickly switch between open applications.

For video communication, there is a proprietary True Vision webcam with a directional microphone and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The network controller with a wireless receiver (Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 4.1) is responsible for processing network traffic. An external monitor can be connected to the HDMI output. In addition, it should be noted the presence of a card reader, a TPM security module and USB C and HDMI connection ports.
