Model overview based on user reviews
The Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge is a highly regarded processor known for its excellent speed and value for money, making it a great choice for budget gaming PCs. Users appreciate its powerful and reliable performance, with many noting that it handles games and everyday tasks without reaching full capacity. While it lacks Hyper-Threading support, it still offers a good price/performance ratio. Some users have overclocked it successfully, though this may require a compatible motherboard and better cooling. The stock cooler is noted to be somewhat noisy, so a quieter aftermarket option might be preferred. Overall, the Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge is recommended for both work and gaming, providing a solid foundation for a semi-gaming platform.

An excellent stone for work and play
3 March 2011
I was building a semi-gaming PC for myself and decided to get this chip. I can't say it's bad. I haven't seen 100% CPU load. As for overclocking, I don't know much about it, so I can't say anything. Basically, I haven't noticed any bugs. It hums steadily. I installed a 1GB video card. GTA 4 runs without problems. All the other games like Metro don't interest me, so I won't install them. Regarding the cooler, if you like quiet operation, it's worth replacing it as it can be a bit noisy.
good fast processor, there is a built-in graphics chip
the set includes a somewhat noisy cooler.

For home, an ideal option

Quite cool even at stock (if not overclocked). But if you start overclocking, it heats up significantly, so the stock cooling is sufficient for normal operation without overclocking. For further use, you need to buy a larger cooling system. All games run without even stressing it much, but some computational programs load it heavily.

Great processor for home

I just don't understand, here in the comments we should be discussing only the I5 2500K, but it seems to me that they're not discussing this processor. How can it be overclocked via the bus??? Since Sandy Bridge can't be overclocked via the bus (maximum 105-106 MHz).
Great performance! I was deciding what to get - I was waiting for the Bulldozer, but it did not meet (has not yet met) the expectations. I decided to go with this one.
