How to choose the right SSDChoosing an SSD with the required speed and good reliability for home, work and gaming
Model overview based on user reviews
The Kingston NV2 NV2 SSD is generally well-received for its affordable price and decent performance. Users appreciate its ease of installation and large capacity options, ranging from 250 GB to 4 TB. It is noted for being a reliable choice for everyday tasks, though some reviews mention it is DRAM-less and may not achieve the highest speeds. While most users report positive experiences, a few have encountered issues with temperature sensors and defective units. Overall, it is considered a good budget SSD for those looking for a balance between price and performance, but users seeking top-tier speed might consider newer models.

Good cheap ssd
29 November 2022
for the promotional 75 EUR - a good SSD. Quite fast and not expensive. Unfortunately, SLC here is only 10% of the free volume, so the stated speeds are not maintained for long during writing. But it reads well.

Excellent SSD, bought more than two years ago, no complaints. Often filled to the brim with games. Comes in a fairly ventilated case

To install the system and store important data, it is better to take something more reliable
29 June 2024
I wanted to upgrade my laptop, but I didn't notice that it only supports SATA M.2, so I had to take it into my gaming PC (as it turned out, it's unreliable for storing important data).
Relatively low price, decent reading speed. Games load quickly and run smoothly.
At the very first copy to a 200 GB disk in one go, the temperature sensor of the controller froze forever at the 60 degree mark. Now there is a risk that if the controller overheats, it will not react to it and will burn or quickly degrade. The actual write speed is very slow.

One of the most popular M.2 SSDs of recent years

The Kingston NV2 SNV2S/500G is one of the most popular entry-level M.2 SSDs that are equally purchased for entry-level gaming PCs, low-end workstations or home multimedia PCs. The success of the drive is based on three pillars - high operational speed, serious workmanship and low cost.

High passport speed up to 3500 MB/s

NV2 SNV2S is perhaps the most affordable solid-state device on the market that can work with the PCIe 4.0 data exchange interface. Thanks to this, the manufacturer managed to increase the linear and random read / write speeds to a very serious level (3500 MB / s and 2100 MB / s, respectively). At the same time, the cost of the drive is literally a few dollars higher than the average price tag of most low-cost SATA3 SSDs. Competing 512GB M.2 options tend to be more expensive, although this is often justified by a larger controller.

Work on mistakes

As for the quality, there is also a complete order. In the second generation of NV, the company's engineers replaced the control controller, so that the average temperature of the drive during intensive work rarely exceeds 65 ° C. This decision made it possible to abandon the installation of a separate radiator, thereby saving a little more. The only negative is that in the same NV2 model, the manufacturer may use different combinations of controllers and flash memory, so the actual characteristics may differ slightly from model to model.
