Many advantages, few disadvantages

The main difference between Yoga and the hero of this review lies in numerous details: although the display is frameless, the frames are thicker than those of competitors, plastic is used instead of metal, and the design resembles practical office laptops. And, given the affordable price of the Ideapad C340, this is never a minus. Otherwise, he does not look like the fifth child in the family, on which parents had to save. There is dual-band Wi-Fi, a modern set of ports (2 regular USB and one USB-C without the ability to charge), a card reader, HDMI, a good webcam with a shutter, a TPM security module, a backlit keyboard and fast charging. No less important, during the tests we did not find any significant shortcomings. Unless the speakers here are not great and are located in the area that closes in tablet mode.

Quad-thread Core i3, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD

The “horses” under the hood of the Ideapad C340, although not the fastest, are just right for its specifics. Quad-threaded Core i3, 8 GB of RAM plus a 256 GB SSD easily cope with simple tasks (surfing the web, working with tables and texts), as well as simple projects for video editing, working with audio or photo processing. It's clear that this isn't a full workstation with a six-core Ryzen 7 or Core i7, but for those who travel a lot, the base performance should be enough.

Surprisingly good IPS display

Pleasantly surprised by the 14-inch IPS display. The picture on it is colorful and juicy, it is unusual to see a display of this level in a low-cost laptop. Although, if you cling to trifles, then the brightness margin could be higher, working in the bright sun with it is not very comfortable. At the same time, the screen supports working with a stylus, like more expensive transformers. The display quickly responds to touch, there is practically no delay, so for those who like to take notes by hand, this will be an additional plus.
