They have an overhead design with a closed acoustic design, the frequency range is 20 – 20,000 Hz. Claimed by the manufacturer as specially designed for Apple portable equipment, including iPad. Excellent headphones for the money. I use them every day at the office and when traveling. If you adjust the headband properly, your ears won't get tired even with frequent use. Made from quality materials, they feel nice to hold and wear. The cord doesn't stiffen in the cold, which is a huge plus. I've been using them for two years now, and they are still like new — nothing has fallen apart or broken! About the sound. Like all Marshalls, the Majors have very pronounced mid frequencies, while highs and lows are less noticeable. But this can easily be adjusted with the help of an equalizer. I bought headphones for the office, came to work, dressed and listen. I really liked the model.
