I recommend it as an alternative to a gaming PC for over9000 UAH
1 November 2017
I've always played on PC, but there came a time when my old computer became quite outdated and stopped handling anything decently even on medium settings. The question arose: to save up for a new computer costing 20-30k UAH or to buy a console for 7-8k and forget about components. I chose the latter, but then the second question arose: Sony or Xbox? My priority is racing simulators and arcades, with which, to put it mildly, Sony isn't great (only the GT series, DriveClub - meh, in my opinion). Xbox has the wonderful Forza Horizon, which I'm already hooked on and can't get out, even though I have plenty of other games.

Further on, I learned about EA Access - for 800 UAH a year, you have access to almost any game from EA - FIFA, NFS, Battlefield, NHL, Titanfall, etc. - play as much as you want.

Backward compatibility is a killer feature of the box. I love playing GTA IV and RedDeadRedemption or the good old Tekken Tag Tournament 2 with friends (rather than paying almost 1800 UAH for Tekken 7!), and I also wanted to play Forza Horizon (the first part) to try out how it all started. All in all, there are about 500 games available in backward compatibility on the box for now, the number is increasing, and about 50 of them are worthy, but they're there, and I enjoy playing them in my living room.

And the last benefit, but it applies to both consoles: disc games can be resold or bought used for quite reasonable prices (150-500 UAH) or exchanged. I used to buy on Steam as well, but with 131 games in the library, I probably played around 10, which, sadly, can't be resold.
Cool design - fits into the style of any living room
Practically silent
Includes Forza Horizon and Forza, Cuphead.
EA Access
Backward compatibility
No God of War, GranTurismo, Last of Us.

Great console

It's an excellent console, inexpensive, and there are always games at discounts. 4k doesn't work in games unfortunately. A huge plus is that it works completely silently.
Price, no noise during operation.
there are few exclusives, few people play on box, they prefer PS.

Is the game already included in the basic package?

The standard Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB package includes the console and one controller; no game is included. Bundles with a game are offered as separate variants marked “Game.” Before purchasing, check the full name of the selected bundle.Source:General information

Can Kinect be connected to Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB?

Kinect can be connected, but the console does not have a dedicated port for the sensor. A special USB adapter is required, which may not be included in the basic package and may need to be purchased separately. If you need Kinect right away, some configurations include a motion controller.Source:General information

Can the console be used as a 4K Blu-ray disc player?

Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB plays 4K Blu-ray discs, as well as standard Blu-ray and DVD discs. This allows the console to be used not only for gaming but also as a home media player for a 4K TV. To play HDR video, the TV must support the corresponding format.Source:General information

Will 500 GB of storage be enough for a game library?

Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB is suitable if you install several games and delete the ones you have completed, but its storage capacity is limited for a large library. This is the entry-level version in the lineup, so if you want to keep more games installed, it makes more sense to consider the 1TB or 2TB model.Source:General information

Does Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB run games in true 4K?

No, full 4K here is intended primarily for video, while games are upscaled to this resolution. Therefore, the console should not be chosen for native 4K gaming. Its graphics performance is 1.4 TFLOPS, and in some games the native resolution is below Full HD.Source:General information

How does the Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB differ from the regular Xbox One?

The S version is approximately 40% more compact and features a built-in power supply, support for vertical placement, HDR, and 4K video output. Gaming performance has changed only slightly. The higher GPU frequency provides an increase of only about 1–5 frames per second in some games.Source:General information

Will HDR work with any 4K TV?

Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB outputs HDR10, but the TV must also support this format on the HDMI input being used. Sometimes, the enhanced color mode for the required port must be enabled in the TV settings. The intensity of the effect depends on the screen’s brightness, contrast, and backlight type.Source:General information

Is the Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB very noisy during gameplay?

In typical gaming scenarios, the console is often described as quiet, and several buyers specifically note the absence of noticeable noise. However, in a review it seemed slightly louder than the original Xbox One due to its more compact cooling system. Disc drive noise when reading a disc may be more noticeable than the fan.Source:General information
