A wireless gamepad in a stylish two-tone color scheme designed to complement the Sony PlayStation 5 console. The model is designed to give players new sensations from diving into the gaming process. Overall, it has retained the styling of the previous DualShock 4 controller and at the same time has been improved on many fronts. Very satisfied with everything! I was choosing between DualSense and Xbox. The white gamepad has a slightly gray, pleasing shade. It is very well assembled, with no button wobble. It connects to a PC easily both via cable and Bluetooth with the help of DualSenseX, and vibration works with any connection. There are extensive customization options. Everything operates almost silently. Built-in battery. There's no USB cable included. The buttons are a solid color (subjectively). Personally, I prefer them more on the Xbox. |

Regarding the vibration, it's not straightforward: In the demo game Astro’s Playroom, everything is done really well; with your eyes closed, you can tell what surface you're walking on. Triggers are used only on specific levels and vary depending on the context. For projects that have a version for the PS5, everything is fine; the vibration is pleasant (although the developers of Control decided to make a distinct vibration response for every step Jesse takes, which I think is overkill). However, I disabled the trigger resistance because, for example, in shooters, you need to shoot constantly, which makes your finger simply get tired, and it also takes more time to make a shot. Additionally, this mechanism makes a sound when the resistance is turned on and off, which becomes annoying after a while (for example, the resistance turns off every time I pause the game or open the menu to check the map). In projects that run on backward compatibility with the PS4, there is no trigger resistance, and the vibration becomes just terrible and high-pitched compared to Dualshock 4. It resembles the buzzing vibration of old button phones. I used to prefer disabling vibration only in shooters, but now I've turned it off everywhere, even in Spider-Man (for PS4) and God Of War (where it was quite good and appropriate on the Dualshock 4). I might say something strange now, but for PS4 games, it's better to get a Dualshock 4, which has normal vibration and clear button action. Quickly got used to it after the Dualshock 4, pleasant to look at and touch. Easier to dismantle and customize than the previous model. The buttons are a bit less distinct than those on the Dualshock 4, but that's a matter of personal preference. It will not work with the PS4. The texture of squares, triangles, etc., constantly collects dust particles, making it seem dirty. You have to wipe it from time to time. Some people encounter stick drift issues, but for me, everything is fine. (Besides, the supplier for the stick mechanisms is the same as for the Dualshock 4 and Xbox Controller.) The successor to the legendary DualShock controller
Surprised to see a PS5 gamepad in your selection of PC controllers? Take your time, because after the announcement of the PS5, Sony made friends with the PC platform to the delight of all its fans. The PC boyars have already completed the Death Stranding, Days Gone and Horizon exclusives, and an addition in the face of God Of War 2018 and, it seems, a remaster of Uncharted is on the way. All things considered, it's no surprise that the PS5 controller can easily be paired with a PC using Win 10 native support, forced support on Steam, or the DS4Windows crutch app.
DualSense Adaptive Triggers
The only downside to this connection is that most games don't support DualSense adaptive triggers. This is almost the main feature of the new gamepad, which significantly enhances the gaming experience. For example, the trigger can become tighter when Aloy from Horizon draws the string of the bow. Alternatively, it can create a tactile feedback effect when firing the Deathloop. On PC, these features are just beginning to appear - the first signs of support for tactile triggers were Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition and Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Otherwise, when connected, almost all the main functions are supported, including the touchpad (can be used as a replacement for the mouse), gyroscope, microphone and motion sensor. Haptic feedback in most games is implemented at a basic level.
Pumped features and controversial design
Regarding the gamepad itself, the sensations are twofold. On the one hand, he stepped forward in the matter of quality. It feels expensive, the buttons are softer and more confident to press, the D-pad feels a little stiffer, and the coating is many times nicer than the Dual Shock 4 (I especially liked the coating of the handles). There was a fast charge, and the battery itself holds a charge a little longer. Bumpers have not changed much, we have already talked about adaptive triggers above. On the other hand, not everyone likes the updated design of the gamepad. The old DualShock was a thing in itself that spawned a million imitators, the new DualSense is trying hard to stand out because of which it becomes like a copycat itself. Well, you've probably heard the story about drifting sticks. For some PS5 owners, after a couple of weeks, the sticks began to fail when registering movements, or they worked on their own without touching the player. Sony has already apologized several times and seems to have fixed everything back in the spring firmware update.
