1) Excellent build quality. 2) Easy to connect. 3) All buttons and triggers feel great to press. 4) Outstanding appearance. 5) If you're getting it specifically for XBOX ONE, it comes with 14-day subscriptions for XBOX LIVE GOLD and XBOX GAME PASS. (Of course, not a bonus for everyone, but still.) 1) Maybe it's just me, but the connection next to the left trigger creaks, but it doesn't affect usability in any way. 2) An exorbitant price of almost 4 and a half thousand. (I got it on sale for 3000) |
If you are looking for a gamepad, then one of the best options is to get an original xbox or an original Sony. All the other options, as cool as they are, are just substitutes for these two, which you have to tinker with in order for them to work properly. Anyone who says that the original Xbox gamepads are unreliable is either lying or has never held one in their hands. The gamepad has been working for me since 2017, without stick drifts, without signal dropouts. The white color of the gamepad did not turn yellow. The nozzles of the sticks wore out, they were replaced by a copy of the original. Now I play 85 games only on the gamepad. It's a great gaming experience. Races, arcades, shooters, RPGs, I can play anything on it without any discomfort. And what's great is that you only need to turn it on and everything works, no extra manipulations are needed. It lies comfortably in the hands. Powerful vibration. Vibration in chickens. Reliable. I would like more new technologies in it, a gyroscope, adaptive chickens, hall sensors on the sticks. Type-c, but it is already in the X version |
Very comfortable in hand: the ergonomic shape, everything is in place — buttons, analog sticks, triggers. Even after several hours of gameplay, fingers don't get tired, and the hand doesn't go numb — and this is important if you play not just once a day, but daily. The connection is stable. The gamepad is wireless, works at a good distance, no "pauses" or interruptions observed. The vibration works quite well, subtly, without rattling. You can also play wired. The button action is precise, the response is good, they activate instantly — crucial for shooters or arcades. Of course, it would be nice to have mechanical buttons like in current gamepads, but after years of using this one, there have been no problems. Triggers are among the best features of this gamepad, comfortable, smooth registration of position, plus vibromotors in the triggers. Unfortunately, not all games support this if playing through Steam. The D-pad is quite decent for fighting games and retro games. I got a set of rechargeable batteries for it, lasting 3-4 days of gaming, recharged overnight, and ready to play again the next day. A fully functioning scheme. Overall, it's a solid controller that does its job without any fuss or fanfare. You just pick it up and play, and it doesn't let you down. High-quality materials, works via Bluetooth and cable, recognizes 95% of games available on Steam, excellent vibration feedback. White color is top. The sticks are quite soft and wear out quickly, there is no gyroscope or other cool features, the sticks have no Hall sensors, and there are no additional buttons underneath. |
From the creators of Windows
Who can make a gamepad more compatible with Windows PC games than the operating system company itself? The gamepad from the Microsoft Xbox One S game console is indeed the first candidate for purchase. It works on XInput technology, thanks to which it is compatible with all modern games.
Connected and working
Connects the Xbox One S Wireless Controller to a PC either in wired mode via a microUSB cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth. Unfortunately, neither the cable nor the Bluetooth receiver are included in the kit - you will have to buy it separately. In the case of Windows 8 and 10, the gamepad driver is installed automatically, while for Windows 7 you will have to download and install it manually.
White is better than black
Moreover, the updated version of the gamepad with the letter "S" in the name (can be distinguished by the white body colour) has become much better than the first version (black colour). In addition to Bluetooth support (previously an expensive proprietary radio receiver was required for wireless connection to a PC), the gamepad received a MiniJack audio jack for connecting a stereo headset. Another improvement on the One S version is softer bumper buttons (RB and LB).
Batteries
The disadvantage of Microsoft's wireless gamepads is traditionally the same - they are not powered by a built-in battery, but by two AA batteries. However, it is worth recognizing that even from disposable batteries, the Xbox One S gamepad works for a very long time - up to 30 hours of play.
