Outdated Product
An above-average performance gaming graphics card with a powerful proprietary cooling system based on heat pipes and two large fans. It is distinguished by the presence of a small factory overclock (+3.5% to the base clock frequency) and a hybrid mode of operation of the cooling system, which stops the rotation of the fans during idle or low graphics load. The Polaris 20 XL GPU, which is the heart of the graphics card, is a high performance gaming solution for 2017 with 2048 stream processors. It works with 8 GB of GDDR5 graphics memory operating at an effective frequency of 7000 MHz over a 256-bit interface. The performance of the MSI RX 570 ARMOR 8G OC graphics card is enough to maintain high frame rates in popular game projects of 2017-2018 in FullHD resolution at high and medium-high g...raphics quality settings. Creation of multiGPU configurations using Crossfire 2-Way technology is supported. For normal operation, you need a power supply with a power of at least 450 W and the use of an additional PCIe 8-pin power connector. Digital connection of monitors, TVs or virtual reality headsets is performed to one of the five interface connectors (3xDisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DVI-D).

So, it's quality stuff.

Excellent card. For the price (I got it for 9k), it's just top-notch. The claim that it overheats is not true. The temperature heavily depends on the cooling fan speed, which does its job very effectively. With a proper fan speed curve, you can achieve a combo of reasonably quiet operation with temperatures no higher than 72-75 degrees, which is quite normal for a graphics card. If you run the cooling at full blast all the time, the temperature won't exceed 45 degrees at all, but yes, then it's noisy, like sitting next to a jet turbine, and it even drowns out the sound from the speakers (my PC is on the desk).
The only downside is that the materials feel quite flimsy. It bends like paper in any direction.
1. Performance.
2. Price.
3. Cooling efficiency.
4. Design is not bad.
5. Not super bulky.
1. Housing materials.
2. Noise at maximum RPM.

1)Gaming performance
2)Price
3)An actual equivalent of the legendary GTX 1060 (as well as the RX 580), but significantly cheaper
1) Noisy cooling

8 GB VRAM

There are 2 variants of the RX 570 in the MSI range: MSI RX 570 GAMING X 4G and Armor. The first one has slightly higher memory and core frequencies, colorful lighting and game design. The second one has slightly lower operating frequencies (but still high), a minimum of unnecessary decorations, a quiet cooler, a nicer price tag and 8 GB of video memory. It is this factor that makes it one of the most attractive options in the sub-$200 segment, since most competitors in this niche have “only” 4 GB of video memory. A year or two ago, such a volume would have been beyond the eyes, but modern toys like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order eat video memory like cornflakes for breakfast, and 6 GB is slowly becoming the norm.

Factory overclock + manual

The rest of the characteristics match. Instead of the base core frequencies of 1168 MHz, the MSI RX 570 ARMOR 8G OC is overclocked out of the box to 1268 MHz. If we talk about manual overclocking, then the picture is not quite usual: with an increase in the power limit, the core rests on the ceiling of 1400 MHz. It's not bad, but not the ultimate dream. But memory, on the contrary, accelerates with a bang, rising from 7000 to 8000 and above. If you tinker with the power limit and find the right settings, you can get a very good increase in power.

ZeroFroz cooling system

To cool all this goodness, a simplified version of the MSI TORX cooler with a pair of rather large metal-styled coolers is used. Interestingly, the cooler supports the ZeroFrozr technology, which completely stops the operation of the coolers when there is no load. The system turned out to be ambiguous, since at a core temperature of less than 60 degrees it is almost inaudible, but as soon as this threshold is crossed, the coolers begin to make noise, be healthy.
