The camera is good, the processor is sufficient for everyday tasks and non-demanding games, the screen is good, bright, and has excellent functions for evening phone use ("Eye Protection"), widely customizable ColorOS, tons of features for convenient phone use, good battery (definitely lasts a full day of use and two days with light use like reading the news, checking the weather, and then forgetting about the phone), the 33W charging block charges quickly and well (this is a downside as such chargers can quickly degrade the battery), the accessory package with the phone is huge compared to today's packages from other manufacturers. Sometimes there is not enough RAM (this disappears after updates), the fingerprint sensor is optical (not very fast or efficient), and the phone may ask for a password after 72 hours of inactivity, even if you turn it on regularly. A serious downside is the connectivity: mobile internet can periodically disappear completely (resolved by restarting the SIM card) and this happens often. There is only one speaker, and the sound is average. I recommend buying a case for it right away (or using the one in the box), as the back cover can get dirty quickly. First of all, I liked the design of the phone (I got it in blue), it's comfortable in the hand, despite having a 5000 mAh battery packed inside. The camera is good, taking fairly detailed quality shots, it operates quite fast, and for most tasks, you can increase the RAM by an additional 3GB in the phone settings. Long battery life and fast charging
The successor to the OPPO A72 is a pretty good value smartphone. Perhaps one of its main advantages is battery life. A 5000 mAh battery (although this, of course, is far from the highest figure on the market) allows you to use the gadget without charging for one and a half, or even two days. In addition, the standard screen refresh rate of 60 Hz is used here, so the increased hertz does not “eat up” extra interest. It supports 33W fast charging, which can charge the battery up to 54% in 30 minutes. It will take about an hour to fully restore energy. Despite the capacious battery, the device came out not too bulky: the thickness of the case is 8 mm, the weight is 175 g. In general, the handset is comfortable and pleasant to hold in the hand, although the plastic glossy surface of the cover still slides. To protect your smartphone from damage during falls, it is still better to put on a case — fortunately, it is already included.
Required minimum
On the inside, the OPPO A74 lives up to its price tag: Snapdragon 662 processor, released in early 2020, and 4 GB of RAM are the necessary minimum for stable operation. The performance is quite enough for everyday needs like calls, quick launch of applications and watching videos, and even for running complex games — however, at medium settings. To do this, there is a special game mode that reduces information from notifications to a minimum. Of course, I would like more RAM, but the built-in is enough — 128 GB and expandable using a microSD memory card. By the way, there is a separate place for the latter, so you don't have to choose between a second SIM card and a memory card. Also, do not forget about NFC and 3.5 mm jack.
The screen of the smartphone is good — 6.43-inch AMOLED with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels, a sufficient margin of brightness and a high touch sampling rate in game mode — 180 Hz. The latter indicator means that the display sensor responds more quickly to touch and press. The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen — perhaps it is not as smart as usual, but more modern. There are fewer camera modules: if the OPPO A72 had four, then there are only three. Apparently, the company finally came to the conclusion that more is not better. And even then, only a 48-megapixel sensor is interesting, the other two — a macro lens and a 2 MP depth sensor — are an addition. The front camera has a resolution of 16 MP. In general, the cameras deserve positive reviews: the pictures are not bad, especially in good lighting, many competitors in this price segment shoot worse.
The package bundle of the smartphone, as in the good old days, is rich: in addition to the aforementioned transparent case and charger, which some companies refuse, you will also find wired headphones in the box.
