Outdated Product
A fairly advanced device with an APS-C sensor and a rugged housing that makes shooting outdoors easier. According to the manufacturer, it is the first "reflex camera" at the time of release (October 2013), in which the anti-moire filter is replaced by the "AA simulator" of the original design, which improved image quality. The mentioned sensor has a resolution of 24.3 megapixels and a maximum sensitivity of ISO 51,200, and is also equipped with stabilization due to shift. Two memory slots allow you to install a Wi-Fi adapter along with a regular card. It is also worth noting the high-quality 3.2 "display with 1037K pixels.

Does a full frame make a difference? Is it worth buying a full-frame camera?Do I need to spend money on an expensive full frame or is it better to buy a cropped camera?..
Top-tier rugged crop sensor from Pentax with a good low-noise sensor
25 January 2016
An excellent 24 MP sensor with a crop factor of 1.5. Noise-free up to 1600 ISO. Beyond that, you can still work, but only with RAW.
I bought a weather-resistant lens, the HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 Limited DC WR. It's expensive as hell, but worth every penny. It's quiet and fast, with good aperture and new anti-reflective coating.
The metal body and convenient shape are fantastic. The grip is incredibly comfortable, right in the hand. Mega protection against dust, dirt, and water. I didn’t specifically test it, but I've been caught in heavy rain twice and have shot in the cold many times. It survived everything without issues.
With a fast memory card, burst shooting almost doesn't depend on whether you're shooting pure JPEG or JPEG + RAW. You can actually achieve up to 5 frames per second.
Auto exposure works like a charm. White balance is also on point. Yes, there are occasional errors, but they're rare.
ShakeReduction works by shifting the sensor (electromechanical stabilizer) and really eliminates minor shakes when shooting handheld.
HDR does its job quickly and well. Oh, how much we used to struggle with this on the computer earlier!
The high-speed USB 3.0 greatly accelerates photo transfer to the computer. Sure, you can remove the memory cards and transfer via a card reader, but using a USB cable is at least twice as fast.
With the lens, it's not too heavy, just over a kilogram. You hardly notice the weight in a backpack.
I would like a rear swivel screen. The battery is not capacious enough. Buy another one, it will come in handy.
