— this category includes waterproof cameras with a relatively low level of protection — not suitable for underwater shooting (see "Direction (optional)"), but better dust and water protection than most models on the market.

Note that the specific level of such protection may be different. So, almost all such devices are able to endure a short-term exposure to light rain without wind without consequences; but resistance to more adverse conditions must be specified separately. Also note that this feature is also found in cameras with interchangeable lenses — SLR and mirrorless (see "Camera type"); however, in such cases, only the body (“carcass”) is guaranteed to be protected, but the moisture resistance of different lenses can also be different. Therefore, the choice of optics for such models should be approached with special attention.
