New wave from Pioneer
Over the past 3-4 years, Pioneer has thoroughly updated its range of club headphones. Perhaps the main star of the new generation was the HDJ-X10 model - expensive premium headphones, in which literally everything is cool, from sound and design to packaging and stylish packaging, inside which hid interchangeable cables and a stylish protective case.
Piece of art
The headphones themselves are almost a work of art. Stylish cups with a textured finish and decorative metal plates look five out of five. The design with a wide headband that smoothly flows into the elongated ear cups is more secure than traditional braces. And the headphones themselves turned out to be damn comfortable: the swivel cups fit snugly to the head, but do not put pressure on the ears at all and at the same time provide a high level of noise isolation. Even after a three-hour test, the ears were absolutely not tired, thanks to soft ear cushions and a comfortable headband. And they are very tenacious, even with the earpiece shifted, it will be difficult to accidentally throw them off your head. And the foldable design makes it easy to transport. However, given the rather biting price tag of around $400, any other result would be akin to defeat.
Sound that surprises
Convenient and reliable design is already 50% success. What about sound? And here again a surprise, they sound much more interesting than you expect from such a narrowly functional device. They have excellent balance across the entire spectrum, and the frequency range starts at 5 Hz and rests at 40 kHz. The sound is full and open, as if the musicians are playing a concert in your head. The nature of the compositions is fully revealed, "light" music sounds airy, and "heavy" music can knock you down with pressure. Whatever Pioneer did with the design of these 50mm drivers, kudos to them. Feels like listening to excellent monitor headphones.
