DTS Headphone X 2.0 support

High-quality Hi-Res headset with software emulation of multi-channel sound and controlled RGB lighting from the famous manufacturer of gaming accessories — SteelSeries. Despite the fact that gaming headsets in general, and this manufacturer in particular, usually have a pronounced emphasis in the low-frequency region, the manufacturer has provided a balanced sound in this model.

This sound allows you to enjoy not only the gameplay, but also from listening to musical compositions of various genres. High-quality dynamic radiators with a diameter of 40 mm with neodymium magnets, according to the manufacturer, provide full reproduction of the extended frequency range from 10 to 40,000 Hz. It is important that the coefficient of nonlinear distortion does not exceed 1%.

When used with a PC, the SteelSeries Arctis Pro headset connects to the included USB Chat Mix Dial, which is responsible for separate volume control of the gaming environment and audio chat. There is a retractable bi-directional microphone with "wind protection" and software-adjustable noise reduction system, which guarantees high-quality voice capture. DTS Headphone X 2.0 Surround Sound technology is supported, providing increased accuracy in positioning sound sources. This makes it possible to quickly and adequately respond to changes in the gaming environment and, ultimately, can be regarded as a significant gaming advantage. Can be used with smartphones, tablets, DACs and portable players.

Premium class

Like all models of the Arctis family, the Pro look more presentable and resemble expensive audiophile headphones than traditionally aggressive gaming headsets. Smooth, matte and pleasant to the touch plastic gives the device a gloss, and neat lighting along the area of the cups reminds of the gaming nature. The design of the headphones is rather unusual: instead of retractable clips, a removable tape is used, which stretches, automatically adjusting to the size and shape of the head, like ski goggles. On the head, the headphones sit and are really comfortable, but it cannot be said that the sensations are somehow different from other models with a standard headband. The ear cushions are lined with breathable fabric, they are quite soft and comfortable and, last but not least, they do not steam the skin on warm days.

audiophile sound

Most of all, Arctis Pro bribes with balanced sound, which is not often found among gaming headsets, which usually turn up the bass. Here, the bass sounds rich, but does not obscure the mids and highs, which are played out dynamically, cleanly and with decent detail saturation. Dynamic 40 mm drivers with neodymium magnets provide full reproduction of the frequency range from 10 to 40,000 Hz, and in terms of sound they are more like “musical” models from Sennheiser or AKG. In general, these are suitable for both video game lovers and music lovers with an audiophile vein. And if there is not enough bass, you can always add it in a proprietary application.

Every little thing counted

The software itself from SteelSeries is always fancy and here, for example, you can set up multi-channel sound profiles for almost every single game. In stealth games like Hitman and Styx, it's worth playing around with clarity and positioning to hear every step of the enemy and clearly understand the distance to him. In shooters like Doom, pile on more bass and meat. Thanks to the integration of DTS Headphone X 2.0, multi-channel audio emulation really works here. I also liked that the cables here are removable, there is a connection via USB and 3.5 audio, and the microphone can be carefully inserted into one of the cups, as a result of which they will turn into full-fledged Hi-Fi headphones. Yes, the price of them bites, but objectively speaking, they have practically no analogues of such high quality and with such characteristics.
