How to choose a microphone for streamingCondenser, dynamic, cardioid or XLR?

Rode is a renowned Australian manufacturer of microphones and other audio equipment. Full control of sound recording during video shooting is provided by the brand's Link FilmMaker Kit radio system with a signal finishing range between the receiver and transmitter up to 100 m.

8 transmission channels

The system uses a 2.4 GHz frequency and a 128-bit encrypted digital transmission signal. A small red button on the body of the receiver allows you to quickly switch communication channels, choosing eight separate options. It hides under a sliding cover on the back of the receiver. Next to this button is a three-position signal amplification switch, and in general, two slots for AA batteries are hidden under the cover.

Info display

The current communication channel number is displayed on the receiver's small info display. The screen also displays information about the remaining charge level of the batteries in both sides of the radio set. If there are no replaceable "finger-type" batteries at hand, the receiver and transmitter can be powered from USB via a wire with a microUSB connector. To fasten the links of the radio system to the belt, clips are used on the “back” of the devices. And a washer is attached to the receiver in the load for installation on the “hot shoe” of the camera.

Tiny buttonhole

The full potential of the system is revealed by the Rode Lavalier electret lavalier microphone weighing only 1 g. It is attached to clothing with a mini-clip, records clear sound with low noise level, and handles well with quiet and loud sound sources. The head of the microphone is protected by a foam waterproof pop-filter, in addition to it there is a fur wind-shelter nozzle. In the medium segment of radio systems with a lavalier microphone, you will have to look for the equal Rode Link FilmMaker Kit.
