The laptop got a second life. In fact, I might have even overdone it. I'm not sure if the performance of my Intel Core i3 is enough to fully leverage this SSD. Applications that used to take about 20-30 seconds to start now load almost instantly. The OS boots up in about 10 seconds along with everything set to auto-start. Tests show a read speed of 527 MB/s and a write speed of 511 MB/s. I'm glad I took the advice and didn't replace the laptop, just swapped out the hard drive for an SSD. I've been using it for a few weeks now. And I understand that if you don't push the SSD too hard, it will last for many years. Well-known brand. Excellent operating speed. The build quality is simply delightful, feels good to hold. Comes with interesting Samsung Magician software. 5-year warranty right off the bat. I chose a drive for the Mac Book Pro '12, because it works slowly compared to modern SSDs. I was surprised by the extremely fast installation. Spent no more than 5 minutes of time. The speed of writing and reading has increased almost 5 times. Therefore, the purchase was 100% justified. Keep in mind that if you install OS 10.10, you will have to enable Trim support using a third-party application. Yabloko has disabled the technology for illegal discs. I installed the disk on the Mac to make the device work faster. Tests show about 500 Mb/s, which is just great. I use two operating systems in parallel, because... For some tasks you need Windows. The system rated the performance with a maximum score of 7.9. Any programs run faster than before. I also have Windows 10, which turns on in 10 seconds. The operating system began to load much faster. I would like to note the extended warranty of 5 years. It’s nice that you can return the disk to the service for free if something happens to it during this time. The cost of a disk is now quite high, but the dollar exchange rate is to blame. The equipment is extremely affordable, apparently to reduce the cost. The package contains only the disk and software. But I didn’t need any adapters. The cost of the product is high, although it is justified by the cool write and read speeds. Samsung uses a new type of memory that contributes to good performance. Pleased with extended warranty for 5 years. This was the last factor for me in favor of a disc from a Korean manufacturer. Now I have Windows 8.1, I'm going to upgrade to ten. With the old drive, the system booted up in half a minute, even though there is a third-generation Core i5 processor. The SSD helped speed things up. Now the operating system is loaded in 15 seconds. Photoshop also began to cover much faster. The speed of reading also affected the improvement of work with several programs. Switching between windows is almost instantaneous. The speed of reading and writing does not correspond to the declared ones, but this is not the fault of the manufacturer, but a deliberate limitation on the part of the software creators. Real numbers can only be seen in benchmarks. The price of the disc is slightly higher than similar products from other companies. Among the shortcomings, I also note the lack of intelligent software for transferring programs. The package is also poor. Why they didn’t put an adapter on 2.5 is a mystery to me, because it costs a penny. I had to buy separately.
