Medium 3.5″ form factor internal hard drive from the 2016 Seagate SkyHawk line of dedicated HDDs. This family includes 9 models from 1TB and 10TB, which are optimized for use in video surveillance systems based on DVRs and NVRs. Special firmware with ImagePerfect technologies ensures uninterrupted round-the-clock recording of video streams from numerous HD cameras (up to 64 pcs).
Supported by proprietary SkyHawk Health Management software that proactively protects the surveillance data warehouse with advanced prevention and recovery tools. The Seagate SkyHawk ST4000VX007 hard drive can be used in simple or complex RAID structures. In the event of a failure, the bundled RAID RapidRebuild software will rebuild volumes three times faster than traditional RAID arrays.
With built-in vibration sensors, the drives provide consistent performance in multi-drive systems, allowing you to quickly and easily scale your video storage subsystem as needed. The energy-efficient controller and firmware features guarantee high efficiency and low heat generation, which increases the reliability of the system as a whole. The design and quality materials protect the drive from environmental influences and minimize the chance of failure.

in 5 years, this is already my 3rd one. The first was for 2TB, a year later I bought one for 4TB, and now I will need to get two more with 6TB. I bought it for a DVR on the advice of an IT specialist friend. It turned out to be a good choice, 2 cameras are connected to it, they film the area around the house and record without stopping, they work uninterruptedly.
