Sony smartphones, although not popular among the masses, continue to remain true to their unique style. The new flagship Xperia 1 VI 2024 attracts attention with its usual elongated case and design with noticeable frames. Unlike its predecessors, the device received a display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, but without 4K, which looks more practical. The screen is devoid of cutouts and "waterfalls", which will please those who prefer the classic format of frameless solutions. IP68 water protection, matte Gorilla Glass Victus and a physical fingerprint scanner in the side button make the device practical, and the presence of a microSD slot and a 3.5 mm jack adds functionality rare for modern flagships.
Cameras with ZEISS optics
Sony has equipped the Xperia 1 VI with its own sensors, including a 48MP Exmor T, a 12MP ultra-wide Exmor RS, and a telephoto camera with adjustable optical zoom from 3.5x to 7.1x. The camera was created in partnership with ZEISS, which ensures detailed and natural-looking photos, although the detail in zoom shots may be inferior to competitors. Video capabilities are impressive: recording in 4K at 120 frames per second is available only to a few devices. A nice bonus is a dedicated shooting button.
Powerful processor and stable battery life
The smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a cooling system, but reviewers note throttling under stress loads. For everyday use and games at high settings, the power is enough. The 5000 mAh battery provides up to a day and a half of operation with active use, and 30-watt charging allows you to charge the device to 50% in 30 minutes. Despite the modest package without a charger and cable, the Xperia 1 VI is a choice for those who value unique design and excellent cameras, while remaining true to the classics.
