Classic shape
The SteelSeries Rival 110 is a mid-sized, symmetrical mouse with a classic 5-button layout that's primarily right-handed because the side buttons are on the left side. There are only 3 additional buttons: a pair on the side and one under the scroll wheel. Outwardly, the mouse looks simple and elegant, but the aggressive wheel, elongated base and ribbed sidewall add a little brutality to it. Especially if you turn on the RGB lighting. The only pity is that only the inside of the wheel and a small logo at the base are highlighted.
Hardware from SteelSeries
The internals of the rodent look like this: inside is a TrueMove1 optical infrared sensor (100 — 7200 DPI resolution, maximum acceleration of 30 G), SteelSeries' own 30 million click switches (which are based on Kailh switches) are used under the main buttons, and the scroll wheel here with a mechanical encoder and 24 step fixes. For the price of $35, these are excellent features. However, we did not expect anything else from the masters from SteelSeries.
Comprehensive and friendly SS Engine 3 software
A nice bonus to all of the above is the proprietary SS Engine 3 software, which may surprise you with the number and depth of settings, but at the same time captivates with the simplicity and friendliness of the interface. All of this makes the Rival 110 one of the best gaming mice under $50. The beautiful picture is spoiled only by a small design flaw in the form of covering the sidewalls with matte plastic. In the midst of a firefight, the fingers periodically slide over them, especially if the room is hot and the palms are sweaty. It seems to us that a conventional rubberized coating would be more appropriate.
