I got the 2 TB model for storing photos, movies, and music. I use an SSD for the system. So it's both fast and capacious :) Hopefully, it's also very reliable. Quiet enough, it hums but within reasonable limits. No clicks. Works fast and doesn't heat up. Reasonable price. The manufacturer is listed as Toshiba, but it seems that this company just acquired the factory from Hitachi. And the latter has always been able to make good disks.
