The 1TB SSD is Western Digital's flagship consumer solution. The model represents the highest price segment and is able to interest demanding users, for example, e-sportsmen. The SSD is made in a compact M.2 form factor and provides a PCIe 4.0 4x interface with support for the NVMe protocol. Due to this, it provides one of the best read (7000 MB / s) and write (5300 MB / s) data speeds on the market.
In addition, the WD Black SN850 WDS100T1X0E-00AFY0 1TB SSD provides an increased size of the SLC virtual array for smart caching. In practice, this means the ability to maintain high speeds even with the simultaneous transfer of large amounts of data (up to 330 GB). And only if the cache volume is full, then a temporary drop in speed indicators is possible. As a hardware “stuffing”, 3D TLC NAND flash memory and a proprietary controller manufactured by SanDisk are used here. And their overall reliability is confirmed by a 5-year official warranty. It is also worth noting that there are versions of different volumes on sale (from 500 GB to 2 TB), which can also be supplemented with an RGB-backlit cooling radiator.

Upgraded from WD750. Didn't notice any tangible difference in games. So, if you're getting it for gaming, you better go for the 750, you'll save about 4 thousand without losing performance, which can be invested in RAM. Compliance with the claimed speeds in synthetic.
