Spring-elastomer

— a shock absorber that combines a spring and a rod made of elastomer — a special elastic material. Such a rod plays the role of a damper, that is, it dampens vibrations coming from the front wheel to the steering wheel. The spring, in turn, is a shock absorber, it smooths out strong shocks.

Spring-elastomeric suspension systems are simple in design, which makes them inexpensive. At the same time, in most cases, the quality and efficiency of such systems are also low, they wear out quickly under high loads, and in general they are not particularly durable. As a result, this option is used mainly in low-cost bikes that are not designed for an "extreme". Also note that at low temperatures, the elastomer becomes harder, which reduces its effectiveness.
