Hydraulic disc brakes

— a type of disc brake in which braking force is transferred from the handle to the pads by a hydraulic system. The advantage of hydraulics over mechanics is high power, as well as good modulation, in other words, a very accurate correspondence between pressing the handle and the degree of impact of the pads on the disc. This facilitates the dosing of the braking force. Of the shortcomings, first of all, it is worth noting, the sensitivity to damage: the slightest violation of circuit tightness — and the brakes fail. And the cost of such systems is quite high. As a result, the main area of application of brakes of this type is professional models of bicycles, mainly mountain bikes.
