Epson AcuLaser
The range of color and monochrome laser devices that were actively developed by Epson from the late 1990s to the early 2010s became an important step for the manufacturer in entering the laser printing market. The first color model, EPL-C8000, was released in 1998 for the Asian market, and by 2000, AcuLaser series printers with groundbreaking technologies of that time appeared, including a tandem printing mechanism with four separate drums for each color and the Quadra Beam system using four laser beams simultaneously.

The main feature of all AcuLaser models lies in the use of a specialized AcuLaser technology suite, which includes its own page description language ESC/Page Color, a special AcuLaser Colour ASIC chip for fast image processing, and RITech technology designed to smooth out jagged edges of fonts and vector graphics. Another unique feature of some AcuLaser series models is the flexible cartridge configuration, allowing the installation of either one monochrome cartridge, four monochrome cartridges to increase autonomy, or a CMYK color set to switch to color printing mode.
The Epson AcuLaser model range includes solutions for various tasks and business scales, ranging from simpler models with a resolution of up to 1200 dpi and a print speed of 16-19 pages per minute (in monochrome mode) to top-end solutions for high-load offices with a maximum print speed of up to 26 pages per minute and a monthly volume of up to 150,000 pages. All AcuLaser series printers are equipped with a standard set of interfaces, including USB 2.0 and parallel port, while network versions additionally support 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet for corporate use. Most models support a full set of printer control languages, including Adobe PostScript 3, PCL6, PCL5e, ESC/Page, ESC/Page-Color, as well as PDF 1.6 in later versions.
