SO-DIMM socket

— the presence on the motherboard of at least one slot for SO-DIMM RAM module.

SO-DIMM is a modification of the DIMM designed for small computers; such memory is characterized by reduced dimensions and a different set of contacts. Slots for it are found mainly among boards in the mini-ITX and thin mini-ITX form factors (see the relevant paragraph).
