Feedback gamepads
Feedback
— the presence of a feedback function in the manipulator. The essence of this function is that the controller physically responds to various virtual game events. The main function of such reactions is to enhance the effect of immersion in the game. However, note that there are two types of feedback, each of which has its own specifics:
— Vibrating. The most popular variety is due to the simplicity of design, low cost and suitability for almost any type of manipulator. Allows you to simulate such phenomena as shaking from off-road driving, recoil when firing a weapon, etc. In addition, the vibration of the controller can be used as a service notification (for example, about a low battery).
— Power. The meaning of force feedback is to increase the resistance on individual elements of the controller. This makes it possible, for example, to simulate difficulties with turning the rudder on a difficult road, or with moving the stick when manoeuvring on some aircraft. Actually, this type of feedback is found mainly among steering wheels and joysticks — and quite rarely, since the power mechanisms are quite expensive and require a lot of energy (the latter makes it difficult to work on batteries / accumulators).
In separate controllers (mostly quite advanced ones), both options described above are found at once. This provides maximum reliability, but significantly affects the price.
