Removable sleeve (MIG/MAG)

— the presence of a removable welding sleeve in the machine for semi-automatic welding MIG / MAG (see "Type of welding").

The sleeve is actually a special hose, with which the burner of such an apparatus is connected to the body; wire and shielding gas are fed through this hose. And the removable design means that the sleeve is attached to a standard socket (usually the so-called "Euro plug") and it can be installed and removed by the user himself, without disassembling the device and without using special tools. This provides a number of advantages over a non-removable design: the sleeve can be removed and folded compactly for storage, transportation, etc., and if necessary, it can be easily replaced with another one. You can even keep several separate sleeves “on the farm” (for example, of different lengths) and connect them as needed.

Among the shortcomings of this option, one can only name a slightly lower reliability than that of non-removable sleeves; however, in general, this point is not critical. Thus, it is the removable sleeve design that is currently the most popular in semi-automatic welding machines.
