Impact protection

— a heavy-duty housing, usually made of shock-absorbing material, allows the binocular/monocular to safely withstand bumps and drops. Of course, shock protection does not give an absolute guarantee — for example, dropping a lens on a stone even for such models will end tragically — but anyway, it significantly reduces the likelihood of accidental damage. The degree of impact resistance can be different, this is usually indicated in the detailed specifications.
