Filling with gas

— filling the binocular/monocular body with a special inert gas (usually nitrogen or argon) serves several purposes. Firstly, such a gas does not react with structural elements, as it can happen with oxygen from the air — this increases the service life of the product. Secondly, the filler is also devoid of water vapor — this also has a positive effect on reliability, in addition, it prevents lenses from fogging from the inside. Also, filling with gas usually indicates a high degree of dust and water protection, since such cases are, by definition, hermetic.
