— switches from this category support two PoE standards at once — both 802.3at and the earlier 802.3af.

The features of 802.3af are detailed in the corresponding help item. As for 802.3at, this standard, also known as PoE type 2, was released back in 2009, but nowadays (at the end of 2021) continues to be the most popular. It provides good performance — up to 30 watts at the output (25 watts at the load) at a voltage of 50 – 57 V — and at the same time is quite inexpensive to implement. At the same time, 802.3at (unlike, for example, the same 802.3af) includes only one power class, and when checking equipment compatibility, this point does not need to be further clarified — for normal operation, it is enough to support the standard itself.
