Fish finder

— navigation devices designed to scan the water column (and the bottom below it) according to the principle of echolocation — the emission of sound pulses and obtaining the necessary information by processing the reflected signal. Echolocation can be used to determine the depth of a reservoir, topography and density of the bottom, the presence and location of a thermocline, and even to find fish; specific functionality depends on the model of the echo sounder. The power and depth of such devices can also be different — from "shallow" devices with a scanning depth of several tens of metres to high-end ocean models that can work with depths of more than a kilometer.
