The model range of the Taiwanese brand Thermalright is dominated by four different families of air tower coolers: the Assassin and Macho models belong to the top level and are designed to cool powerful and very powerful processors of the Ryzen 9/Core i9 level, low-profile AXP coolers should appeal to owners of compact cases, and tower coolers systems from the Spirit family are somewhere in the middle and are aimed at the mass market.
Technical characteristics of the Spirit series coolers include the use of compacted copper heat pipes, aluminium radiators and PWM-controlled fans. This approach provides a good combination of heat dissipation efficiency and fan speed control based on processor temperature. Some models are also equipped with the ability to install additional fans for even more intense heat dissipation. In terms of compatibility, the coolers support most modern Intel and AMD sockets, which makes them universal for use in various systems.
Most members of this family are designed to work in tandem with mid-level processors with a thermal package of around 160 W. The average tower height, as a rule, exceeds 160 mm, so the manufacturer recommends comparing the dimensions of the selected case, cooling system and RAM modules before purchasing in order to avoid any problems during PC assembly. Despite the popularization of RGB and ARGB lighting, Spirit cooling systems studiously avoid this trend.
