Drills with Morse taper
Morse taper
— one of the oldest mounts for drills and other interchangeable bits. In accordance with the name, it is intended for shanks of a conical shape (tapered towards the end); for additional reliability, a thread or tab for a groove inside the cartridge can be provided at the end of the shank.Morse cones are distinguished by good reliability, high centering accuracy and quick change of nozzle, however, in general, such a mount is considered industrial and is used mainly in stationary machines. Therefore, among hand drills, this type of cartridge is rare, and only in powerful heavy models for large-diameter drills.
