Flexible extension

— an auxiliary device in the form of a flexible tube (for example, based on a metal spring) installed between the main tool and a removable nozzle (for example, between a ratchet and a socket head). Any extension cable is designed for the convenience of working in hard-to-reach places, which would be difficult or even impossible to reach with a conventional tool. The flexible variety of such devices gives more freedom of action than the rigid one, however, it handles worse with the transfer of high torque to the nozzle. Note that the tool kit may include several extensions of this type — for different sizes of fasteners (see "Landing square").
