— special protection for propellers, mainly used in quadcopters and multicopters. Usually, it is produced for specific models — taking into account the size of the screws and design features.

Guards of this type are usually special pads that fit around the screws or above and below them. The design of such pads is such that in the event of a collision, they do not allow the rotating screw to reach an external object or surface. This protects both such objects/surfaces and the screws themselves from damage, and also provides additional safety for the operator and bystanders. Thus, for example, it is recommended to run quadcopters indoors only with propeller guards installed.

Also note that in some models, protection can also increase the efficiency of propellers — in such cases, the pads form a kind of “pipe” that increases traction.
