Such devices may have a different design. One of the most common options is pads made of opaque material that cover only the gimbal. They do not fall into the frame and do not affect the image quality, however, the degree of protection is also low. Another design option is a transparent cap that completely covers not only the mechanism, but also the camera installed on it. Such a device not only provides excellent protection against dust and moisture, but also covers fragile mechanical and electronic components from shock during collisions and unsuccessful landings. On the other hand, the condition of such a cap must be carefully monitored: scuffs and dirt on a transparent surface, although they are usually not visible through the camera on their own, can lead to a noticeable deterioration in the “image”.

Gimbal protection is made for specific models of quadcopters, and in some cases, also for individual models of compatible cameras (if the drone itself does not initially have an “eye”, but allows the use of specialized cameras of different models).
