In more advanced wearable devices, the memory card serves as a supplement to the built-in storage; and although removable media operate slower than built-in ones, they are much more cost-effective in terms of capacity and price ratio.

It is also worth noting that the card slot not only allows you to expand the gadget with additional memory but also facilitates data exchange with other devices — support for such media is often found in smartphones and tablets, and even in larger equipment, miniature cards can be used with the help of special adapters.
