Model overview based on user reviews
The Garmin Forerunner 235 is a high-quality smart watch that stands out for its accurate heart rate monitoring and versatile features. It excels in tracking heart rate with precision, allowing users to set optimal heart rate zones for different activities, such as workouts on an elliptical. The GPS tracker is another highlight, effectively mapping routes, calculating distances, speed, and energy expenditure during activities like biking. Additionally, it provides notifications for calls and events on a connected smartphone via Bluetooth, which is energy-efficient. The watch functions well as a pedometer and has a black-and-white screen that is visible in daylight. However, it struggles with sleep tracking and lacks a "smart" alarm clock. Battery life is limited to 14-16 hours with GPS and Bluetooth active, but it charges quickly in about 70 minutes. Despite its higher price, the Garmin Forerunner 235 is a valuable tool for maintaining physical fitness, offering detailed data that can be transferred to a smartphone or computer for further analysis.

Expensive but really useful sports watch
22 June 2017
It is natural to keep yourself in good physical shape, but sometimes when you are busy at work and there is also hell knows what is happening at home, the thought creeps in - and to hell with it all. You miss a workout, then another, and the more you missed, the harder it is to come back. You understand in your mind that you should not do this, but since the effect of one separate workout is not visible, then why not skip it (( These sports watches effectively help to fight this scourge. After all, everything they register can be transferred to a smartphone or computer and then graphs and diagrams can be built, which is what I regularly do. And then the shameful absences are especially visible.
This is not some cheap Chinese fitness bracelet; it is a really cool device that can not only monitor your heart rate but also do many other interesting things. Let me start by saying the heart rate monitor is very high quality; I didn't expect such accuracy from a wrist model. Within the watch, you can set a "corridor" for optimal heart rate depending on the activity. For instance, I set such a corridor when working out on the elliptical, and if the watch warns me by beeping about exceeding the upper limit, I reduce the speed, but if the heart rate drops to the lower limit, then the intensity needs to be increased instead. My second favorite feature is the GPS tracker, which maps out the routes of my bike rides, calculates distances, speed, and approximate energy expenditure. Thirdly, during a workout, it can notify me of calls or events on the smartphone. It connects via Bluetooth version 4, which is very energy-efficient. Therefore, a few hours of such a connection do not significantly drain the battery. It also works well as a pedometer. The screen is black-and-white with backlighting, but the backlight is only needed in the dark. During the day, it is perfectly visible in reflected light.
It falters when tracking sleep duration. There's no "smart" alarm clock. With GPS constantly on and using Bluetooth connection, the battery drains in 14-16 hours. However, it does charge quickly, in about 70 minutes.
