Portable amplifiers
Portable
— amplifiers designed to be carried around all the time. They are mainly intended for use with smartphones, tablets and other portable equipment: their own built-in amplifiers and DACs in such equipment are often not effective, and an additional audio device can significantly improve the sound in headphones.Note that the main external feature of portable amplifiers is not so much their small size as the overall shape of the case, optimized for carrying. So, most of these devices are made flat and relatively thin — for ease of placement in your pocket; and some models even allow attachment to the back of the smartphone using special ties (such ties can be supplied in the kit). The battery is most often used as a power source (see "Power"), but another option is also possible — work directly from the USB port of a smartphone or other gadget. It is also worth mentioning that this type of amplifier can also be used as a stationary one, but constant use in this format is hardly justified: the functionality and power of portable solutions are generally relatively modest, and with similar characteristics, they are noticeably more expensive than stationary counterparts.
